Learning and Teaching System access for Faculty Administrators
The Learning and Teaching Systems team in ITD maintains the list of Authorised Faculty Administrators for UTSOnline and REVIEW. The Faculty Administrators are authorised by the Dean, Associate Dean, or Faculty Manager in their Faculty. To adhere to IT security standards, and because the role includes the elevated privileges listed below, this access is reviewed and renewed annually.
Canvas Grade faculty Admin role permissions:
- Announcements – view
- Course Content – view
- Courses – change visibility
- Courses – view list within the assigned faculty
- Discussions – view
- Grades – edit
- Grades – view all grades
- Grades – view audit trail
- Grades – view change logs
- Quizzes – view submission log
- Users – Designers add / remove in courses
- Users – Observers add / remove in courses
- Users – Teaching assistants add/ remove
- Users – Teachers add / remove in courses
- Users – allow administrative actions in courses
- Users – view list
- Users – view primary email address
- Log into Salesforce to reassign RAOs for AVRs when required

- Courses – view list of all courses within the assigned faculty
- Discussions – view
- Users – Designers add / remove in courses
- Users – Observers add / remove in courses
- Users – Teaching assistants add/ remove
- Users – Teachers add / remove in courses
- Users – allow administrative actions in courses
- Users – view list
- Users – view primary email address
REVIEW Faculty Admin role permissions:
- Full access to the REVIEW site
- Able to enrol and remove staff as well as students
- Able to view subject reports
- Able to view, mark and change student results
- Able to edit subject settings including its availability to students
- Able to create, edit and delete task
