Original draft version is displayed in a Blackboard Assignment rather than the latest submission
This known issue is closed due to the decommissioning of Blackboard on the 31st of August, 2021
Affected Users:
Instructors and students
Description:
When submitting a file to a Blackboard Assignment, student’s have the choice of saving multiple drafts before submitting their document. Once the document has been submitted however, both the Instructor and student will see the original draft of a submission rather than the latest submission in the inline document viewer. If a student or Instructor attempts to download the submission using the inline document viewer download tool, they will download the original draft version rather than the latest submission. If the student or Instructor attempts to download the submission using the Blackboard Assignment download tool, they will download the latest and correct submission. The screenshot below illustrates the available download tools:

Inline document and Blackboard Assignment download tools
See below for workarounds for both students and Instructors
Status:
No fix available
Workarounds:
- Instructors: Download the assignment submission using the Blackboard Assignment download tool rather than the inline document viewer. This workaround will not be necessary if students apply the below workaround.
- Students: Before submitting your file to the Blackboard Assignment, delete the draft versions by clicking on the Mark for removal tool next to each draft (see image below):

Use the Mark For Removal tool to delete drafts before submitting
