Line break issue
Emails sent via the Send Email tool ignores line breaks
Affected Users:
UTSOnline email recipients
Description:
When sending emails to students/staff using the Send Email tool in UTSOnline, line breaks that contain no text are ignored. For example, if you compose an email with four line breaks between text, the recipient of the email will only see one line break between the paragraphs (see images below).
An Instructor composes an email in the Send Email tool using different-sized line breaks:

When viewed by the recipient of the email, there are no variations in the line breaks:

Please note that emails sent from the Announcement tool do not have this issue.
Status:
Vendor has acknowledged this as a software defect. There are two workarounds available.
Workaround:
- To create working line breaks, simultaneously press <Shift> + <Enter> when creating a line break.
- Windows users can use a plain text editor such as Notepad to compose the email which can be copied and pasted in the Send Email text editor. This does not work for Mac users when using the default text editor application: TextEdit.
