Last Access Date for a student is incorrect or is not recorded
RESOLVED: 28th of April, 2017 (the fix does not apply to accesses prior to the 28th of April 2017)
Affected Users:
Instructors
Description:
The Last Access Date is a timestamp that should record when a student or any other enrolled user last accessed a UTSOnline site. The Last Access Date would normally be available in the following areas of UTSOnline subjects:
- In the Grade Centre (only if the Last Access grade column has been enabled)
- In the Performance Dashboard (under the Evaluation menu in the Control Panel)
- In the Student Activity Centre (under the Evaluation menu in the Control Panel)
At present, there is an issue that results in the visible date not matching the activities performed by students or not recording a student’s access at all. This is most noticeable in the Student Activity Centre where Instructors can usually view then notify students who have not accessed their UTSOnline site (see image below):
It is recommended that Instructors do not rely on the Last Access Date for notifying students. A recommended alternative is to send an email to all students, welcoming those who have logged in and engaged in activities and reminding the others.
