Copyright and Reading Lists
To ensure copyright compliance the following teaching resources must be submitted as part of your subject reading lists to the Library.
- Lecture notes or slides that contain copyright material, e.g.: tables, graphs, images, from books or journal articles, or copyrightable material copied from the internet
- Journal articles or book extracts for which you don’t own the copyright or haven’t obtained written permission from the copyright holder to communicate
- Images copied from books or journal articles
- Images, text or extracts of pages copied from websites (except sites that clearly give permission to copy and communicate)
Prior to publishing a reading list, each list is submitted to the Library where reading resources are:
- checked for copyright compliance and appropriate notices added
- digitised or purchased as required
- placed in the Reserve collection
