In using UTSOnline, I understand that:
- UTS will collect personal information about my undertaking of subjects at UTS. Information will be collected from staff as part of teaching a subject, such as grading and feedback on assessment activities; and from students in relation to the submission of assessments, including contribution to discussions, wikis, podcasts, and personal and subject related blogs and journals. Additional profile information may also be added by students and can be updated at any time.
- Instructors in UTSOnline subjects can see all material submitted in relation to their subject sites. My own grades can’t be viewed by other students, and only my group members can view group work that has been created and/or submitted through UTSOnline. Otherwise I can choose to restrict or permit other users to view my personal information and journals.
- Information held within UTSOnline is used to provide feedback to me and to guide my learning. It will also contribute to the grading of individual assessments and my final grades. Information, including data automatically generated through my access to and use of UTSOnline, may also be used to provide me support and may be assessed so that additional services and facilities can be offered to me to support my studies. Analysis of de-identified information may also be used to inform UTS quality improvement initiatives.
- My Turnitin assignment submissions may be stored in the Turnitin repository and used as a source for future originality checking for other Turnitin assignments.
