When made available by the Subject Coordinator or an Instructor, students can now access and attempt the Avoiding Plagiarism quiz through their UTSOnline subject site.
What is the UTS Avoiding Plagiarism website? *
UTS’s Avoiding Plagiarism website is a highly interactive learning tool that provides academic integrity information via discipline-specific modules.
The website consists of three sections:
- Information on academic integrity spread over three tabs: What is Plagiarism, How to Avoid Plagiarism, and Am I Plagiarising?
- Tutorials on academic integrity on four topics: Paraphrasing, Summarising, Quoting and Referencing
- Quiz on academic integrity
The website is a great orientation and self-learning tool to enhance students’ understanding of academic integrity, which offers opportunities to exercise how to avoid plagiarism in the UTS context.
Why should I access Avoiding Plagiarism through UTSOnline? *
When students access and attempt the Avoiding Plagiarism quiz through UTSOnline, their results are pushed to the UTSOnline subject site grade centre. Through the grade centre, Subject Coordinators and Instructors can allow access to specific parts of their UTSOnline subject site depending on the results of a student’s Avoiding Plagiarism quiz. For example, a student may only have access to an assignment in their UTSOnline subject site if they have achieved a certain score in their Avoiding Plagiarism quiz attempt.
